Clichéd , but True

All This Week's Warren, Watchung, Green Brook & Long Hill Activities

We celebrated my dad's 70th birthday this past weekend with a surprise party.  He was completely surprised...probably because his actual birthday was a month ago.  In my typical style, I realized at the last minute that his 70th was coming up and the fastest I could get a party together was almost 4 weeks later.  I tend to follow the "better late than never" philosophy a lot.  Along with "it's the thought that counts,"  which I trot out whenever I suffer an epic fail in trying to find the perfect gift.  Hey, these sayings wouldn't be popular if they weren't true, right?  I'm pretty sure, though, that "better on time than late," and "the thought only counts if it's a good one," are really much better mottoes to live by.  I could get right on that, but you know what they say...you can't teach an old dog new tricks!

Macaroni Made

Summer Color Wreath

It is simple to create this colorful, festive wreath.  I could not help that it reminds me of summer, sitting on the beach drinking a fruity adult beverage!

What you need:
  • cocktail umbrellas (check party supply stores)
  • Styrofoam wreath

What you do:

Easily poke the toothpick umbrellas into your wreath form. MORE is better in this case! Use a variety of sizes for interest!

HAVE fun! : )

Which means, "I don't need a fork!" I had a hard time getting a picture because she kept snitching pieces ...
