Catching some ZZZ's

Plus all this weeks events and more!

I remember a more experienced mom asking me once how I was feeling about one month after having my second child.  "Tired," I replied - of course!  Then, smiling, she told me that being tired never stops....wait, what?  I thought that you just have to get past those initial first months of interrupted sleep, and after that, it would be smooth sailing.  I'd be rested, refreshed and ready each morning to tackle the challenges of motherhood.  My first child slept through the night almost immediately, of course all others would do the same.  Fast forward four years to a newborn who snuffles and snorts like a grizzly bear at night, keeping us awake between feedings, a 2-year old who shouts out in the middle of the night, fighting with his brothers in his dreams, a 3-year old who knocks on our bedroom door after using the bathroom at 2am to ask if it's time to wake up yet, and a 5-year old who gets midnight nosebleeds and occasional bad dreams, and I now realize why for moms and dads, being tired is just a state of being!  So, you'll forgive me if, like today, the newsletter is occasionally late...at least until I get a good night's sleep!
